A decision-making process based on solid information leads to good decisions. Information is power. Often times our inability to choose or move forward is an indication that we do not have sufficient information, particularly when it pertains to decision making in the workplace.

However, other times, in particular, in our lives outside of work, limiting beliefs and limiting decisions that we hold, maybe the reason why making a decision can be difficult.

There are two main areas of the decision-making process we will be exploring here. The first pertains to exploring what could be preventing you from making a decision. In the second part, I will be giving you the Decision-Making Skills Model Six Steps and other strategies you can use to make excellent choices and decisions.

Not Making a Decision IS DELAYING Your Life

Each time you delay a decision you are actually delaying your life. It becomes open to push and pull of circumstance. Circumstances can open your mind to doubt, doubt only deals with what has happened, never what can happen.

Doubt interrupts your decision process and introduces laxity. He becomes a master of making excuses and allows you to defend yourself when things don’t work for you. It is very important to identify the excuse you can think of while challenging.

Limiting Decisions and Beliefs

In this world, you ultimately receive exactly what you feel you deserve, no more, no less. What you believe and what you say to yourself has a tremendous impact on what happens to you and what kind of life you’ll lead.

You are the creator, director, and writer of the script called “YOUR LIFE”. All limiting beliefs are motivated by one central belief: you do not feel worthy of the goal (or what you want).

All our limited decisions can prevent us from experiencing and analyzing the full range of choices that we actually have. So many times, we wait to make a decision because we “do not want to make the wrong decision.”

When you find yourself in this situation, remember that when you do not make a decision, essentially, you are delaying your life and not moving forward.

So, think about this for a moment. What kind of beliefs do you have that limit you? What kind of beliefs do you need to get rid of that will allow you to begin to express the magnificent person that you are?

Today there is clear evidence that focus keeps the mind clear of obstructions that block the flow of your energy. That is why I emphasize that you learn to identify what is motivating your decisions and your actions since your decisions shape your entire life.

1. Identify the issue

Outline the objectives that a successful decision should address. Use the Perceptual Positions Frame if dealing with others.

2. Determine the alternatives

Think outside the box for creative alternatives. Innovative choices often lead to a higher quality solution. The preferred alternative is chosen based on careful analysis and the actual decision is made.

3. Evaluate available alternatives

Choose the best alternative. This third step is probably the most important. Examine factors that would impact a particular decision and also determine what implications a particular decision might have. Write down the pros and cons of each alternative (consider cost, time, ethical issues, goals, etc.). Is it congruent with your values or the values of your organization?

4. Implement the Decision

Take Action Just as important as making the correct decision is implementing it wisely and thoroughly. Address just what will be done to implement the solution, when it will be done, and who will do it. A successful decision is rendered useless when it’s not carefully executed.

5. Follow Up & Feedback

Part of good decision making is giving it time to work. Make sure you review the outcomes and reflect upon the success of the decision and what was learned from the situation. If the problem or issue is still not solved or new problems arise, make the necessary changes and evaluate the outcomes

6. Focus On High Priorities First.

First of all, consider your high priorities in which you are serious. Because it plays an important role in improving decision-making skills. Decision making is never easy, especially when a big step has to be taken in the existence of your life.

Therefore, first, do a serious analysis of your chosen objectives. After that reached a particular goal. I believe the same purpose will take your life to a new height. From where your life will be clear what you are and what you want to do.
